  To Sir With Love

Leta Da Costa has been Nando Durante’s submissive for three years, and she would do anything for him. The pair are best friends with Graham Raleigh, who lost his wife and infant son in a house fire two years ago. When Nando asks Leta for a one time fantasy where he and Graham top her in play and have sex with her, she agrees. But for Graham, one time isn’t enough.

As Nando works to overcome his jealousy and realizes he’d rather share Leta than lose her, Leta has past issues of her own to conquer. The three commit to their new ménage relationship as Leta falls in love with Graham as well.

When a series of fires at a nearby construction site send all three to the area to help, Nando becomes trapped in a building. Can Leta help Graham face his worst nightmare to save Nando’s life?

  Chapter One

Leta Da Costa stepped outside onto the balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico to watch her Dom, Fernando Durante, attempt to clear yet more driftwood from their private beach. His best friend, Graham Raleigh, was here this morning to help him, as he was once a month when the men tackled this project. It was a never-ending task, and as Leta sipped her tea she tried as always not to laugh while she watched them work. Nando, as everyone called him, was a neat freak when it came to keeping this beach pristine.

“You missed a few pieces, Sir,” she called.

Nando turned at the sound of her voice and gave her that look, but Graham merely smiled. She’d be in big trouble later for teasing Nando about this, but that was partly why she did it. She pointed toward the spot where they’d been an hour ago. “Over there. I see a few twigs still.”

“Thanks. Now get back inside or I’ll put you over my knee right here on this beach in front of Graham. I thought you were making us breakfast?”

  “All finished, Sir.”

“Then find something else to do.”

She knew her Sir well enough to know that he wasn’t actually upset with her, but she also didn’t want to push the teasing past the point of fun, so Leta blew him a kiss and went back inside.

Their Dom/sub relationship was no secret to Graham, or to anyone else on this island. Most of the people on Sybaris Cove lived a BDSM lifestyle, and those who didn’t were curious about it, or left the others alone to do their own thing. Leta had spent enough time on the mainland to know it wasn’t that way in most places, so she tried not to take what she and Nando shared for granted.

Their relationship with Graham, on the other hand, was a bit more complicated, or rather, it might soon become that way. Leta rinsed her tea cup in the sink and then turned at the sound of their voices. “Done already?”

“Not even close. But right now we need food, woman.”

She laughed, as she always did when he used his caveman voice, and swept her hand toward the counter. “I’ve kept it warm for you, Sir.”

He and Graham took seats at the counter, and Leta scooped an omelet onto each plate, then added a generous helping of her potatoes and cheese. Men could eat like pigs and never gain an ounce. She swore she felt her hips spreading just looking at this much food. “I hope you like it. I tried something different today in the omelet.”

“Thank you, pet.” Nando shoved a forkful into his mouth and made satisfied noises that were quite sexy, if a bit gluttonous. “Mmmm. Good. Great. What’s new in them?”

“I experimented a bit with th
e spices, that’s all.”

“This tastes wonderful,” said Graham. “Thanks so much.”

“My pleasure.” She busied herself at the sink with unnecessary work so she didn’t stare at the men while they ate. Nando’s dark hair and gray eyes contrasted nicely with Graham’s blond hair and startling blue eyes. Both men were gorgeous, and she’d never been shy before about checking out either one.

But all that had changed recently after Nando had confessed a fantasy to her, and then asked her to consider making it come true. Since it involved her submitting to him and Graham, and because Nando had also shared the fantasy with Graham, Leta now found it difficult to look their friend in the eyes for very long. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to give Nando his fantasy. Quite the opposite. But now that the images had been planted in her brain, she wasn’t sure how to react in front of Graham.

“I think most of that driftwood came from the construction site,” said Graham.

“Wouldn’t doubt it,” said Nando. “Kade told me the site got pretty banged up in the storm.”

“But that’s right next to his and Elliot’s land, isn’t it?” asked Leta, turning to face them. “Are their homes all right?” Kade Durante and Elliot Raleigh, both distant cousins to Nando and Graham, had side-by-side homes on twenty acres of forested land. Unlike most of the Durantes and Raleighs, they’d chosen to build their homes on flatter ground as opposed to the hillsides overlooking the town and the family business, Phoebe’s Playthings.

“They had some flooding and downed trees, but they’re okay and so is Giselle.” Giselle Macey was their sub and she lived with them, dividing her time between both homes for now until the three decided what to do with the houses.

“Don’t mention Kade and Elliot around Asa right now,” said Graham. “Between them quitting, and Jesse and Wendy going forward with the plans for the resort, he’s ready to commit murder.”

Asa Durante was one of the current CEOs of Phoebe’s Playthings, and he ran the company like he tried to run the entire island. With total control over all aspects of life on it.

“Asa forced their hand,” said Nando. “If he told me to choose the company over Leta, I’d quit, too.”

“Yeah, but they didn’t just quit. They’re opening a club.”

“Which won’t affect Phoebe’s Playthings at all,” said Leta. “Not unless Asa decides to dedicate a wing of that place to Cuban music, pool, and booze.”

The men laughed. “He’d do it, too,” said Graham. “Just to prove he could.”

“Liam told me Asa is considering taking his case against Jesse and Wendy to the state supreme court.”

“Can he actually do that?” asked Leta.

“He can try. But I doubt they’re interested in a tort case involving someone’s right to build a resort. It didn’t get as far as a trial here and it never will. Asa doesn’t own this island, although we all know he likes to behave as though he does.”

Leta took a seat next to Nando. “He can’t stop anyone from starting a new business on this island.”

“Try telling him that. You know how he is.”

“He’s probably more pissed off that Jesse and Wendy managed to keep it a secret from him for so long.”

Nando grinned. “Yeah. You’re right there. Asa had to dig through permits to find out it was their project, and he did not like that.”

Leta shook her head. “Jesse and his brother own the largest construction company on this island. I’m surprised Asa didn’t realize it had to be their project from the start.”

“He didn’t think Jesse would openly defy him that way. He has judges and cops in his back pocket, but this was one issue they couldn’t get around. Jesse has threatened to go to the media if Asa continues to push him not to build it, and that will cast a black mark on Phoebe’s Playthings.”

“But it’s not defiance. This project is good for all of us. Can’t he see that? Tourist trade will bring in new customers for the company. Live customers, who will spread the word when they return to the mainland.”

Nando kissed her forehead. The tenderness in his eyes nearly took her breath away, as it always did. “He hates direct retail. He’d do away with the shop out front if he could and conduct all our business by mail order only.”

“He’s so weird that way,” said Graham. “He’d rather deal with everyone by fax and email.”

“He hates people,” she said. “He’s a miserable man who wants everyone else to be just as unhappy as he is.”

“Right again.” Nando scooped up the rest of his omelet. “But without that company, this island wouldn’t exist.”

Leta picked up his plate and rose to pile more food on top of it. “Without your ancestors stealing the island from my ancestors and the other families who were here first, the company wouldn’t exist. Asa forgets that point daily.” Asa and Tim Raleigh ran the company that their fathers, Daniel Raleigh and Emilio Durante, started in 1979. But the sordid history of the Durante and Raleigh families on this island went back farther than that.

“You’re preaching to the choir here,” said Graham. “May I have more food as well?”

She forced herself to look him in the eyes and smile. “Of course.” After she’d given Graham seconds, she took a seat next to Nando again. “You know, if Asa would just calm down about the resort, he might think of ways to use it to his advantage.”

Graham peered around Nando to raise his brows and give her a quizzical look. “Such as?”

“Well for one thing, if he worked together on this with Jesse and Wendy, he’d end this silly blood feud with his cousin and heal the rift in that branch of the family.” Jesse Durante was the son of Anna Raleigh, who had married Javel Durante. Anna was Marion’s sister, and Asa was Marion’s daughter. Asa and Jesse had a falling out decades ago when Jesse married Wendy Thilenique, a descendant of one of the families native to this island. Asa had mysterious reasons for hating Wendy’s family, none of which had ever made sense to anyone but him.

“Good luck on that one,” said Nando. “Even my own father told me to let that go.” Nando’s father, Frederick, was also one of Asa’s first cousins.

“But see? That’s what I mean. Asa has all these prejudices and idiosyncrasies that have no basis in fact. He pretends he’s acting in the company’s best interests, but all he’s really doing is perpetuating the great divide between both your families, and the rest of us. It’s ridiculous.”

“I agree with you, pet.” Nando handed her his empty plate. “But you’re fighting a war that none of us will win. The best we can hope for is that one day, when Dallas and Arizona take over the company, they’ll run it in a different way.”

“Dallas and Arizona are nothing like their fathers,” said Graham.

Leta nodded, silently agreeing with him. Arizona Durante and Dallas Raleigh were the unofficial heirs to the CEO positions at Phoebe’s Playthings, but neither man was uptight or rigid like their fathers. They had, in fact, recently defied both to take Celina Vallee into their homes as their lover and their sub, even though she now worked for them in the marketing department, which they currently ran.

Graham rose and started to carry his empty plate to the sink, but Leta took it from him and he took his seat again. “Well maybe Asa and Tim will retire soon, then.”

“Don’t count on it,” he said. “Asa will probably die in his office, with his fingers on the keyboard.”

“Probably,” said Nando, stretching. “All right. We’ve had food. Ready to get back to work?”

“Are you two sure you don’t want some help?” asked Leta. She’d offered earlier, but Nando told her he’d rather she stay inside to make breakfast and think about their conversation a few days earlier. He’d asked her to make a decision within a week. Would he see through her reluctance to be alone with her own thoughts this morning?

He gave her a long, searching look, then told Graham he’d meet him out on the beach in a moment. Leta swallowed hard at the look of unbridled lust Gra
ham shot her. It was quick, and he averted his gaze a split second later, but he had also done nothing to rein in the emotion.

Once he’d gone outside, Nando pointed toward the floor, and she knelt, not having to ask what he meant. He cupped her face, his beautiful eyes intense and full of concern. “Do you really want to break your pretty nails on driftwood, or is there something else going on?”

“You see right through me, Sir.”

“You know I do, pet.” His voice was soft, but held enough of an edge that Leta knew she shouldn’t have tried to push it. He’d asked her to think about it, she’d agreed to do that, so that’s what she should be doing right now.

“I have thought about it, Sir.” That much was true. “I barely slept last night, and when I did, I dreamed about it.”

“I know. You were very restless.” That was unusual for her, so of course he would notice that. “Tell me your concerns.”

Leta sighed out loud. Where to start? “What if I can’t handle it, Sir? What if I don’t please you? Or what if I don’t please Graham? What if it ends up being nothing like you hope it will be, or that he hopes it will be, and then…and then your friendship with him is changed?”

Nando’s face softened and he motioned for her to stand. Once she did, he pulled her close and as always, shivers ran up and down her spine. He only needed to look at her and she wanted him. When he touched her, nothing else existed for her. She’d been in love with him most of her life. And now that she was back on the island and was with him, nothing in heaven or hell could convince her to give him up.

“That won’t happen,” he said, his voice soft but full of confidence. It held the same tone he used during their play, and her mind immediately went to that place where she trusted him completely and without reservation.
